Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the ReciPie application ("App") collects, uses, and protects the personal data of its users. The App is operated by Tomasz, an independent developer based in Poland.

1. Data we collect

Account data: email address, username (when registering via Keycloak). If you sign in with Apple/Google, we only receive an identifier and optionally your email.

Recipe data: video links, imported recipes, edits, shopping lists, favorites. Stored on our servers for cross-device synchronization.

Technical data: device type, operating system version, app version, error logs (Serilog). Collected automatically for diagnostics and quality improvement.

Subscription data: subscription status (active/inactive), plan type (monthly/yearly). Processed by RevenueCat. We do not have access to your payment card details — payments are handled by Apple App Store and Google Play.

2. How we use your data

• Providing App services (recipe import, synchronization, shopping lists)
• Processing content via AI (Anthropic Claude) to parse recipes — video content is sent to the Anthropic API, which processes it and returns a structured recipe
• Audio transcription from videos (OpenAI Whisper)
• Managing subscriptions (RevenueCat)
• Error diagnostics and quality improvement (Grafana, Prometheus)
• Communication with users (support email)

3. AI processing

Content from imported videos (audio transcription, descriptions) is sent to external AI services:

• Anthropic Claude (Haiku and Sonnet models) — recipe parsing, dietary variant generation, correction suggestions
• OpenAI Whisper — audio transcription from videos

Data sent to these services includes only recipe/video content — never personal user data. Anthropic and OpenAI process data according to their respective privacy policies and do not use it for model training.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with:

• Anthropic — recipe content for AI parsing
• OpenAI — audio for transcription
• RevenueCat — subscription data
• Apple / Google — payment processing (we do not access card details)
• OVH — server hosting (France/EU)

All data is stored on servers within the European Union (OVH, France).

5. Data retention

We retain account and recipe data as long as your account is active. After account deletion, all data is permanently removed within 30 days. Technical logs are automatically deleted after 90 days.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

As an EU user, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of your data
• Rectification — correct inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion of your account and all data
• Portability — request data export in JSON format
• Objection — object to data processing

7. Security

We use standard security measures: TLS encryption in transit, hashed passwords (Keycloak/bcrypt), database access restricted to VPN, regular backups. However, we cannot guarantee 100% security of internet transmission.

8. Children

The App is not intended for persons under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we discover that we have collected data from a person under 16, we will promptly delete it.

9. Cookies

The mobile App does not use cookies. The recipee.pl website may use essential cookies for functionality (no tracking, no ads).

10. Changes to this policy

We will notify you of significant changes via an in-app notification or email. Minor editorial changes may be made without notice. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this document.
